KLSEPTO Board Position Descriptions

President:

The president presides over meetings of the organization and executive board, serves as the primary contact for the District Superintendent, Director of Special Education, and District school principals; represents the organization at meetings outside the organization, serve as an ex-officio member of committees, coordinates the work of all the officers and committees so that the purpose of the organization is served, and serves as a member of the District’s Parent Council. 

Vice President:

The vice president assists the president to carry out the president’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve. 

Secretary:

The secretary keeps records of the organization, takes and records minutes, prepares the agenda, handles correspondence, and sends notices of meetings to the membership. The secretary also keeps a copy of the minutes book, bylaws, rules, membership list, and any other necessary supplies, and brings them to meetings. 

Treasurer:

The treasurer keeps an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, presents financial statements and make a full report at the end of the year. 

Member-at-Large:

The Member-at-Large supports the work of all the officers.
