Welcome! The Katonah-Lewisboro Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (SEPTO) is a district-wide parent teacher organization that provides information and support to parents of children of all ages, elementary through high school, with learning differences and special needs.

 

We are a welcoming community of parents who support each other in this journey we share of raising a child with unique educational needs.

We hold monthly parent meetups (sometimes in person, sometimes virtual), and monthly in person gatherings for kids of all abilities via the Buddies United program.  For more information, please take a look at the brochure below.

2024-2025 SEPTO meetings

SEPTO holds monthly meetings to allow caregivers to come together to share concerns, experiences, and advice with others who understand the special challenges and joys of raising children who need special services or accommodations.

Lunch & Learn: Come Ask the Advocate

 

On Tuesday, January 14th, SEPTO is hosting "Come Ask the Advocate," a Lunch & Learn with advocates and parent trainers from WILC and PILC. This special FREE zoom presentation is an opportunity to come ask pressing questions you may have ahead of your annual IEP review.

KLSD Special Services Presentation: The ABCs of IEPs

 

On Tuesday, February 5th, please join Special Services for an in person presentation on the ABCs of IEPs. This will be held on the second floor at John Jay Middle School. Please bring your questions ahead of annual review time!
 

2024-2025 Buddies United

Join SEPTO members and high school student volunteers in sensory playdates with something for children of all abilities.

 

All meetups will be from 3- 4pm. In the warmer months we meet at the Lewisboro Elementary School playground (LES). In the winter we meet at the Cyrus Russell Community House (CRCH) in Cross River.

 

If you know of a middle or high school student who is interested in voluteering, please let us know!

 

RSVP's are welcome but not necessary.
